I received a present last week of four 6-in BGK and I was wondering if this is too many for a 6-ft. X 2-ft. 120 gal. tank. I have done some research online regarding this species of Knife fish but I am getting conflicting info. Some say no more than one, while others state that as long as you have a large enough tank and plenty of hiding spots that it is okay to keep them together. As for right now they have claimed different areas of the tank and only get upset when another one crosses into that space.
So can anyone experienced with this type of knife fish give me there input.

Thanks

It's probably going to be cramped for them. A 120g for 4 full grown BGK might cause territorial issues. Looks like you're already starting to see that at 6"

Thanks for the reply.
I have noticed that one is very aggressive and wants the whole tank for itself. I am going to place this one in my hospital tank until I can find a new home for it.
Anyone living near Montreal,Canada looking for a black ghost? LOL

Try putting them up in the Buy/Sell forum.

There is the possibility of putting more in to spread out the aggression for some fish, but I wouldn't try it with these guys. I know some people or at least one person who has a group, but they're small right now.

one of hte other bgk is just going to take the really aggressive spot and do the same thing... this group thing does not work well with bgk that size
