OK i'm really bumed out. It apears that my 6" BGK has obtained an injury on his right flank, it looks like a pea sized crater. I first noticed smth hanging from his side yesterday, but today I got a good look at the wound. It's kind of a brownish color, but u can see the meat in the center.
Not really sure what to do since he seems active and is eating well, so maybe I shouldn't mess with it and let it heal on it's own, but at the same time I'm worried.
I don't know how it happened since his only tankmates r 3 juvie angels and a 3" pleco

Just keep water clean, up the temp, and aquarium salt. Or use half dosege of melafix. Pics of the injury might be helpfull. Long as it doesnt get infected he should be fine.

+1

If you are not shure about using salt then dont ive never had problems they are just more.sensitive.to salinaty. If you want to play it safe then higher temp and doing an extra water change or so will work. Cleaner your water is faster it will heal. I seldom do any treatment to mine besides.that unless its a bad injury then ill use salt or.meds. Good luck with him. If you use salt any non iodized salt is fine

Water changes and hopefully it will continue eating well. I would introduce garlic into the diet as well.

Good news guys, he seems to be healing well. The wound is definitely looking much better considering it's been 3 days. It doesn't look as nasty as before and is getting smaller. I didn't add any meds only a 50% water change.
Thank you everyone for all the inputs I do appreciate it
