Is this an odd behavior for the BGK? He usually stays suspended in water with the bottom fin constantly waving back and forth but I noticed recently it does not ALWAYS do this anymore, sometimes it just lies on the substrate in its hiding place, does this indicate some kind of sickness?

My heater recently broke and the aquarium is 70-72 degrees I know I need to get a new heater but could this maybe be the cause of the behavior?

It is in a 20 gallon tank but there are no other fish and it is only 5".

The temp could slow it down a bit, but it should be ok for a short amount of time. I've seen them do this a lot.

dont worry much at all, my BGK did it all the time

seems the oddest behavior for a fish IE swimming upside down, laying on its side, swimming then letting current sweep it away...... is all perfectly normal for a BGK. ive seen mine do it constantly, and he was quite happy and healthy until fungus from a CK killed him :(

Yeah he's probably fine. Ghost Knive's love doing odd things to make you think that they're dead or sick. You kinda get use to it eventually....

If the lights are on that's pretty much what mine does.
