Hello all! I am setting up either a four of five foot 110 gallon aquarium in a few weeks. I abolutely love large, cool fish. So far In the tank I am planning on having a green terror, severum, goe. steindachneri (moveable), and a smaller bichir, probably senegalus. I have heard that BGK's only get to about a foot in aquariums, and absolutely love the look of them, so I have to ask, do you think one would work in my tank?

the cichlids will most likely cause problems. id try a beefier knife like a CK if you have an upgrade or maybe a BIG african brown knife.

Well I dont ave to get the green terror, and the other two I have are not agressive at all. I personally dont think there would be any agression problems. I cant get a bigger tank- how big do the brown knifes get? I really like the BGk's, and if the cichlids agression would be the only objection I think I could make it work

the african knives will get about a foot. a nice big ghost owuld be awesome tho if you could make it work.

Yeah, the ghosts are SO cool. I think I am going to try It, and If it doesnt work, remove whoever is causing problems. If the ghost is the agressor (though I think it is hardly likely) I will look into an african. I think I am finding that big fish are not as predictable, never know untill you try. Ive just got to keep my eyeson the tank and be prepared to make adjustments.

Thank you very much- Im going to see if I can make it work.

Oh, and BTW- what kind of bichirs are in your profile? Albino Delhezis?

I hope the bgk works out. Mine is around 11" now, and is the pride and joy of my tank. I hope it works out well. Good luck.

Hey, I've got a juvie Severum in with my young BGK--they've been growing up together, and recently did a bit of squaring off with no actual contact (just flexing their balls, so to speak). Some Emerald corys, too, and all do fine. Been months--7 or 8.
