BGK tankmates

i have recently accquired 6 young BGK about 7cm or so. I was wondering what other ancient fish can i put it wth? Btw i saw a spotted gar which is only like 5-6 cm is it compatable?
 
yes a spotted gar is compatible but will grow bigger than the bgk,how about a bichir species,fire eel,smaller snakeheads etc

i wouldnt say that!

gars will bite anything that they see as food
so i would be carful

Did you say 6 young BGK?

BTW gars when they grow can have the BGK as food (especially BGK is kinda slow growers). Senegal Bichirs and Spiny Eels will work.
 
yes 6 young BGK they seem happy togther as long as i keep them fed. I hand feed them now they do chase each other around sometimes. So bichirs are the best choice? do gars grow faster than BGK? I thought BGk are peaceful community fishes so 6 wouldn,t be a problem?
 
from what i've heard your better of with 6 bgk's than just 2 as no one fish will take all the bullying and so will be less stressed,bichirs are prob your best bet for tankmates,how big is your tank ? bgk's will get over 12" in aquariums
 
my tank is currrently 2 feet but i have a 3 feet tank wth a 2 feet arowana in it. When the bichirs abd ghost knife get too big i plan to transfer them to the arowana tank. But i heard they are slow growers?
 
mine dont grow slow at all and there are two in a three foot tank they stay hidden till meal times then they attack each other wouldnt fancy keeping 6 in 2 foot. we have ours with vt angels and rams and chain laoches allthough the loaches tend to dissapear (food?)
