Hi I'm starting a planted 100gal peacefull/semi agressive community tank. It will have corys, guppies, loaches, angels, gouramis Etc. I have no idea if black ghost knife fish are compatible with 2" fish? If no guppies perhaps mollys? They get bigger. I know the frys will get eaten but I'm talking about full grown guppies/mollys. Are bgk opertunistic feeders? Will they eat the little fish?

depends on the fish i have a 4inch BGK that WILL NOT eat live food not even 1/4 inch guppies, put will eat flake pellets and cucumbers. All depends on that fishes personality and one day it could switch.

Guppies will probably eat up as a snack. BGKs will eat smaller fish, but I did have my BGK when it was 7" in a community tank with 1.5"-2" Serpae Tetras and some Panda Cories. They were all accounted for, but some of the Tetras started to lose an eye here and there. I think it could've been the BGK that was poking gout their eyes.

based on my experience (having five 20cm+ ones in 4 foot tank), Ghost knife will not eat any fish that it cannot eat in one gulp.
I have had neons, guppies etc that will get eaten as it is slender in body length.
Also my x. ochrogenys were it's food when it was small enough to be eaten whole but once they reach 3cm, they were fine.
I also have dozen of kuliloaches that grew up in my tank from very small size, which was never preyed upon. (strangely it will eat worms bigger than kuli! lol).
My ghosty was well fed on cheap pellets (it loves the cheap ones).
Hope this helps.
