if i end up being able to keep my bichirs they will go into a 75 gallon tank. i just got through reading a poll/thread about BGK tank size and the general consensus was that a 75G would be fine for one of these, what about the bichirs? assuming they arent overly aggressive are bichirs known for being able to be tank mates with BGKs? i have 2 senegals and 1 delhezi.

I just picked up a 13" bgk today, he is in my 75gal with 2 sens, a del, and an ornate. They're all 6-9", so far its been the bgk establishing his territory, but no harm has been done :) Everyone has accepted each other.

awsum, iv always wanted one. now iv just got to get those polys settled in, wish me good luck with all of this. i might need it.

When you add your BGK, make sure to reaarenge the tank and keeps the lights off for a lil bit. I did that, along with throwing some food in for the polys. Everyone is still alive and well this morning, I was worried someone would be dead...most the ctenopomas. Good luck to you :)

Only problems I had were the senegals not respecting boundaries and feeding time. They would always poke into the knife's cave and have to be chased out over and over, and then feeding time was just who was quicker to the food.

thank you all. Raynebowfish, good luck with your tank there, i like it. dark_knights_99, nice setup. i really want to keep the polys and get a BGK - and do it right if thats possible - so think positive thoughts and lets hope for the best (and hopefully my best can be achieved while keeping them all and getting the BGK here in the near future) :)
