dont know if thats how you spell it but everyone knows what im talking about. i went to petsmart and saw dinasour bichair and i kinda like em. ive read they can escape easily. just like to hear stories about em. if i got one should i lower the water level. are bichairs worth getting when i have 3 cichlids atleast 5"( getting eaten wise). i have a 4 ft 80 gal,

Yeah when you see it labled as a dinosaur eel or what not its usually a Senegal Bichir. They usually go fro 10 -15 bucks and get to a little over a foot long but they are slow growers. They can escape ur tank but not to easily. My tank i have them in is 2 1/2 feet tall and they do fine. They are air breathers and do best in a shallow tank when young. But mine do fine with my Africans and South Americans. Oscars at 5 inch do not do well with bichirs under 3 inch they are like worms and can get ate to easily. I have 2 Senegals and an Ornate that do fine with them though. But my 2 1/2 inch Endli is in a breeder box till he gets a bit bigger.

ya my biggest fish is a 6" dempsey, they have bichir at like 3-4" for about 5 bucks.... jus dont want him to be lunch or escape

I doubt he'll escape, but the jd will tear him apart. They're like spaghetti at that size. Put in a divider if you really want him.

yeah i had a endli about that size that got its face ripped off by a 4'' oscar. Itll take about 4 months of good feeding before the bichir will be somewhat safe from the demp.
