Bichir and Ray

I think my Ornate and Marble x Motoro are in love? Either that or they're sizing eachother up, but i don't see any signs of aggression.

They are always laying on top of or next to eachother. Somtimes the bichir on top and sometimes the ray on top. Anyone else experience anything like this?

Also the ray is a pup.

My bichir's (8 of them) all get on well with the ray i have and i do find they do tend to either get coverd by the ray or they rest on top of it.You'll have to keep an eye on the Ornate though as they do grow exceptionally quick and i find its the more agressive species of bichir.

I have a 20" ornate in with my stingrays, no problems at all.

Cool, so are they just being playful or is this something to worry about later?

I wouldn't wurry about it to much. As with all fish though you get the od nutter so just keep an eye on them

Nice. That's one of those combos that work sometimes and sometimes is doesn't. I believe if the two are introduced when they're young, you have a much better chance of them getting along. Kind of like a kitten and a puppy.

Interesting spotting on the ray, looks like dual racing stripes down the back.
