Alright, so in my 75 I have an albino sen whom I'd say is at maybe the 8" mark and then I have my big guy, an endli, who has been at the 15inch mark for as long as I can remember (at least 2 or 3 years)
I know, I know, he really deserves to be in something with more width but I can't get a wider tank :(
in any event, he seems content in the tank and actually likes to explore, though he sticks mainly in this little corner of the tank even though there is a perfectly nice other 2 feet of the tank that he has decided does not exist in his world lol
anyways, this is a planted tank and I was wondering if there exists any sort of schooling fish that would be large enough so that the endli does not eat them or numerous or small enough where he just doesn't care to go after them
I realize this "perfect" little schooling fish probably doesn't exist but I figured I'd ask the experts
many moons ago I tried rainbows and they worked for a time but when one of them got sick my endli decided to acquire a taste for rainbows so those are a no go, however interestingly enough when i first set up the tank he was totally fine co-habbing with a little 2-inch electric blue jack dempsey that he never even so much as swam near (though the little guy would often go after the same food as the endli was so its not like the endli didn't have a chance to suck him up)
anyways, enough of my rambling for now, any suggestions?

I would do like 13 giant danios or tiger barbs

Maybe some of the larger barbs like tinfoils or bala sharks or something like that? I'm not sure it would work, but a small school of uaru cichlids would be awesome imo. Or you could go the other directions and buy like 20 neon tetras and see if your bichirs think that they are worth eating (I suspect that they will, but who knows? and neons are pretty cheap).

Tiger barbs wont work neither will buenos aeries tetras tried em both and slowly they vanished

forgot to mention that its a planted tank, so uaru's would be a no no
tinfoils, and balls also get kinda big, I'm not upgrading anytime soon
I also have a few other fish in the tank with this guy that are doing okay
full stock list is 5 pearl gourami, 3 rainbow cichlid, 1 blood parrot, 1 angel (plan on adding 3 more), 1 pearl eartheater, 1 endli bichir, 1 albino sen, and 1 pleco (don't know exact species but its been with the endli and sen for the past 4 years so I'm not really concerned about them being together) I got a high bioload I know but I'm running 2 ehiem 2217's on this tank and doing weekly (if not bi-weekly) water changes

I was considering tiger barbs but i've heard bad things about them being with angels
actually, I was heavily considering doing a group of diamond tetras cause they wouldn't be tooe expensive for a group of 6-12 and I would be losing a fortune if the bichir eats them
was also considering larger mollies (I know, I have such a weird taste in how I mix my fish, but its been working for me for a while so *shrugs*)

I was gonna suggest congos, they get around 4-5" (I've seen some 5" at my lfs display tank) but they are a little more expensive then say diamonds or red eyes probably.

Another possibility is getting a shoal of large loaches... we might view them as bottom feeders, but loaches really swim all over the place.

I would say Balas or Tinfoils, but then good luck with getting food to the bottom...:D

Giant Danios might be safe. They never stop swimming.
