Weird thing happend today during feeding. My little delhezi went nuts on my armatus. The little bichir isn't scarred of anything lol he went right to the armys face and tried stealing the food right out of his mouth! Once the army darted away, the bichir continusly swam into his belly and side taking small nips at the army. No matter where the fish swam, the bichir was on him, constantly trying to bite him. Weirdest thing I ever saw. Eventualy I just stuck some talapia infront of the delhezi and he retreated to his favorite spot to eat. Just thought id share this odd expirence haha. For a second, I thought the bichir would end up as food.

I'm not sure, I also hadn't fed in 2 days (got all my xmas shopping done) so I assume both were pretty hungry. I'm thinking the bichir was more interested in the smell of fish my armatus was eating. Iv never seen them do that before, they usualy completely ignore eachother.

It does sound a lot like the little poly was trying to steal the food from the army. He was probably hoping he could harass it enough to make it drop it's 'kill'. Little guy was hungry! lol

Wow never in my life I have heard of a bichir that's that active.

My bichir is constantly out roaming the tank, if by chance he is sitting still, the second I walk by the tank he's out swimming around.

I honestly hated the little guy the first 2 weeks, but he's grown on me a lot and has quickly become a favorite with the family. He's starting to put on some size too, everyday he seems thicker and his external gills are more prominent everyday it seems. Overall I'm very happy with his progress.

Haha my polys try this all the time, considering they have to compete with 4 atf and 3 payara, they rarely ever win. I've seen my endli take a feeder right out of my armatus mouth so can't blame them for trying.
