my o.b. would never eat live food untill i put 2 juvi convicts in with him he ate both of them that night and now only eats live foods

When I put food next to my Sen he nipped the side of my Ctenopoma but quickly stopped when he's like "oh, wrong food" maybe they go into a frenzy of sorts

Icic thanks! I was under the thought that since they swallow their food whole and not chew it, it would really be hard for them to know whats tasty =D

Bichirs actually chew their food first. Try feeding it pellets and your see them chew their food. That why they developed a death roll so they can take chunk of meat out to small pieces because they like to chew their food. Soft food are just swallowed if it can go softly inside the trout.

I didn't know that. I feed him krill and pellets and bloodworms and brine shrimp....some of that is "chewabl" More chewy foods is the key!
