hey guys,

ive had my 2 endlis for about 3 months now and they are my prize possessions!
quite often i find myself sitting and watching them for ages... (as you do), wondering what it is their actions and behaviour really mean...

for example, when they swim up and down the tank continuously; when they bury their heads in the sand; when they "yawn"; what it means when sometimes it looks like they are gasping for air??? etc etc....

any ideas?

cheers in advance!

I think the burying is more like a self defense mechanism. I'm not sure if it's also used as a hunting technique since I don't feed live feeders. The yawn is probably just stretching out the jaw muscles. The swimming against the glass thing I think means it wants to move out or swim somewhere else and look for better hiding spots but obviously it can't. Gasping for air could mean several things though. They could be just tired, stressed, full, water quality problems, etc.
