I know there has been other threads on this but i couldn't really find an answer. My 75 gal has a emperor 400 and 2 large air stones in it so i think that takes out there not being enough oxygen. My 2 sen bichir's are the only ones doing it. My new ornate seems to be fine and isnt breathing hard at all. The heavy breathing does come and go but it doesn't occur at certain times (like after eating or being stressed from another fish or light being on) So does anyone know if i should be worried? All of them are still eating fine and getting air at the top like normal.

What are your water parameters and other tankmates.

Just 2 sen's and one ornate sizes ranging from 7'' to 8''. So 3 bichirs. Not sure about my tank parameters cause i need to go out and buy another test kit.

If your water parameters are okay and it is eating and otherwise acting normally, then I wouldn't worry about it.

yep get a test done but watch to make sure the ornate isnt making himself known to be boss and stressing the others.

The ornate hasn't bothered the 2 sens, they still are not friends cause the 2 sens grew up together and lay on each other but i don't think the ornate is comfortable with that yet.

ok so i just got back from my lfs and they said my water was perfect. They said my 20 gal water was kinda acidic but it wasn't enough to worry about. I told him i had bichirs in my 75 and he said to add some salt but i really don't want to because of the bad experience with it before killing some fish.
