I recently got a small Delhezi Bichir and he seems to have issues staying on the bottom. When it tries, the back half is kind of floating up. It’s eating good, but when eating it’s almost vertical with its head down eating off the bottom . It goes under the driftwood to keep itself on the bottom. Other than this it’s seems fine, eating, alert etc...
Anyone know what’s causing this?
Thanks

Got any photos of this?

Happens and not uncommon. Would wait it out. If not can add Epsom salt 1 tbsp per 5g. It should resolve.

had this problem with my dels, too. In my case the issue was colic from pelets they didn't tolerate. (in my case tropical carnivore pellets)
I didn't feed them for about 3 days and i got better every day.
I never fed this pallets again and never had this problem again.
what are you feeding your bichirs?

Maybe that’s whats going on, he just arrived in mail this past Wednesday. When I put him in the tank, he immediately went for some leftover veggie cichlid pellets, that I gave the other fish beforehand, so I’ve been feeding him a combo of those pellets and blood worms.
