i dont think it can choke doesnt it have gillss, not sure my bumble bee cichlid was fine with a shrimp stuck in its throat for a couple minutes and spit it out.

That's not true they dont have external gills but they still have gills.... They'll suffocate if they cant get air but if it cant swallow it they can vomit
