I have a Senegal and ornate together with my Rays. Both Bichir about 20cm. Recently the ornate has started hassling the sen. Sneaks up behind it bites it’s tail.
Will this behaviour stop?

If not I would prefer to rehome the sen as the ornate is a nicer looking fish. But don’t want it then turning on the Rays.

Any input appreciated.

It should eventually stop. Gotta add some more hiding spots and plants. Other option is add more polys. Just watch out for really bad damage from the ornate. Ornates can be a bully.

Mixed results with rays and polys. Better chance the fighting between polys will resolve. Better to let the dust settle b/w the Senegalus and ornate.

I've had 3 Ornate's and 2 were territorial would snap at other Polys that came near them. Tbh you will eventually have to remove the Senegal or Ornate due to size difference.

My two polys (one sen and one del) would avoid each other and nip when they got close. I followed advice and got more polys to help them get along...

And look at them now!

Polys tend to settle their difference IME, although my male will still be nippy now and again. Hope yours work out!

As for the ray... I saw a horrifying video of a bichir with a ray barb/tail in its mouth. Both died... :(
Gees that's no good :(

Thanks for the replies.

I will give the ornate another week or two to calm down.
If he doesn't, I think I will rehome him.
