Bichir Experts....Advice/Answer Please

I just landed a Palmas Poli. He/She is about 10" and nicely marbled. The only flaw is that a nostril tube is missing and the other is not as straight as my other Bichirs. Do these grow back/repair in time? is there anybody who has had success with nostril regeneration?

they will grow back. my delhezi completly tore his off and they grew back in a couple weeks

It may take some time but it will definitely grow back.

for my senegalus it took 6 months for it to grow back!

it also depends on how much is missing, so it's not guaranteed to always grow back.

and also depends on the age of the bichir, in my experience when full growns lost a nostrill is harder that they grow back.

I had my lapredei 11" and my senegal 6.5" both lose their nostril(s) and they grew back.

yes,they will grow back unless the injury was severe enough to cause it not to grow back...
