How often and how much should you feed? I currently feed talapia and sinking carnivore pellets. I feed early morning before lights come on and at night. Also, shoukd you alwats be able to see each one eat? I have some shy ones so I put some food in, watch some eat and then put more in and leave the room as to allow the shy one to come out and eat. Though I think the shy one, lap, was the one that ate the fish I had in there so I am assuming hes eating the other food but only have seen him eat once

Depends on size, I used to feed my smaller ones once a day.

Now that all of mine are atleast 15" I feed once every 2-3 days.

As for amount, I usually put in as much as they will eat in 15-20 minutes. I broke mine of the habit of being shy eaters, once they get hungry enough they will go for the foos as soon as you put it in the tank and from there should get better about eating when you want them to.

I feed mine with regular feedings. Now eat pellets though. Whatever and whenever the fish eat thats what my bichirs eat.

I just randomly feed. For the smaller ones what you do is fast them for a couple days like 2-3 days then feed 1 time then fast them another 3-4 days or so and do this like 5 times and it will make them realize to get food when ever they can. If you don't do that then don't worry what i always say to myself when i have a new one is that if there is food in the tank and they are hungry they'll eat what they want or can.

Thanks for the feeding tips everyone. I always seem to put more in for a have a few that are such good eaters and seem to gobble everything up so I fear the others wont get anything so I think I will try the fasting for the bigger guys so they realize that they better just come out to eat :)
