Well in my 180 i have an ornate bichir and endil bichir. Both are the same size. I just watched the ornate bite part of the tail fin off the endil. No body bite just the tail finnage. Will it be ok and has this happen before with anyone else:confused:

Bichirs tend to nip at each, but if they start ripping huge chucks out of eachotherthen you have to worry , the fin should repair pretty quickly.

ok thanks they eat two to three times a day ghost shrimp mussels, pellets and raw shrimp. Should they be fed more

If you see this its a fight. They generally will swim beside each other & lay on the bottom head to tail. Then they would display with dorsal spines erect & pecs fluttering and gill covers flaring.Suddenly, they would whack each other with their tails, turn and grab each other by whatever they could get a hold of (head, side, any fin in reach, etc.) and shake the helk outta each other. Pretty much anything else is just territory or dominence Nipping and snapping are normal-Anne

It happens, especially with ornates that lean towards aggression/territoriality more than other species.

Here is a vid of the ones I used to have locked in a dominance/territory dispute: Ornate bichir fight

I know hahah but I didn't plan on separating them, I figured I would let them settle it and they did.

The female won dominance (not surprising) over the male, and they were fine together ever since.
