Labeled red bichir, but i just want an experts opinion.

Ok thats what i thought, so the label red bichir was correct? Ive googkes adults and see no red bichirs at all
At first not really. They can grow quite quickly, 1+" /month or more.
Once they get older you will be able to. Most dont hit sexual maturity for a year or so. The males anal fin will be broader and the base will be thicker with more muscle. The male uses that fin to catch the eggs making it a cup and then fertilizes them and releases them. You will catch males cupping that fin every once in a while practicing or stretching.
Endlis can be a threat to Senegals, so watch the size difference if you were planning on keeping them together. They grow much larger and much more quickly. Part of it will depend on the individual temperament.
I don't know why fish stores sell fish by their common name only. No one here calls an endli a "red bichir." They're not even red... So weird.
