If any body tells you bichirs are brackish fish don't believe them and sure as hell don't try it, it cost me 4 bichirs

Wow you gotta know where your fish come from. Its kind of hard to have a saltwater estuary that far inland.
Never heard that one before, sorry about your fish. I did read somewhere years ago that ropefish can live in lightly brackish water though I don't recall the source
after the first one you should have come here and asked about their tank requirements.. from now on remember MFK before you purchase.. sorry for your loss.
I found this site when I bought the bichirs and i was looking up info on them to see why they died when i switched them to brackish they were the smallest I've ever seen and it was the guy at petsmart that told me thay are naturally brackish and it was bad for them that they sold them fresh so I bought all of them

The shop probably thought it was a dragon goby coz they're brackish an they look kinds similar

Hollllyyyy! did you do your research first? Even the slightly of research would indicate that bichirs come from freshwater rivers and lakes. Well I did remember once that a caresheet said that slightly brashish was ok. BS.
