I agree, patience is the key, and trying various foods to see what it likes.

If it's very very active, it's not comfortable in the tank and is trying to escape, which means if your tank isn't sealed up, it might jump out and die.

Any pics of your tank? What's your setup like?

put in some driftwood for it to hide under where it can chill and not feel like it's been abducted by aliens.

hi been tring to feed Hikari sinking carnivore pelets but the senegal eats them all lol

hi he is in a small tank just trying to get some beef on him before i put him in the main tank

Mine's exactly like your's. Swimming up and down non-stop and doesn't seems to like eating. I've been feeding it hikari carnivore sinking pellets, meal worms, live feeders, bloodworms but it doesn't even seem to care. BTW, I've already bought it like 3~4 weeks and it's still the same.

How long have you bought it? If you've just bought it, it's OK since it's probably not used to the water condition in your tank. Let it settle for a couple of hours (or even days) and it'll be better. Mine behaves this way because it's alarmed or feels threatened probably because of the presence of my new Jardini and I've transferred him to another tank, hopefully it'll eat something soon.

2 of my bichirs died because it stopped eating...theyd just swim wildly around the tank like crazy and even if they are veeeery thin and weak because of "lack?!" of appetite theyd just continue to swim like hell....and after a few week they end up dead....i dont know the cause of this strange stuff because my third bichir in the same tank did not have the same symptoms and is still alive three years after it happened....
