My bichir has had an on and off stomach lump for yesrs but today noticed its poop looking odd.

I've tried dipping it's food in Epsom salt but this lump eventually returns.

It's more than likely ingesting something. Does the lump go away after you feed it Epsom soaked food ?

It likely is a defect from being captive bred. DMD123 DMD123 haf a teugelsi has similar. Just had to control feedings and it was manageable.

More the most part. I noticed when I drop the carnivore pellets on the sand the lump doesn't get as huge as to when I drop it in the corners where there is reddish flourite gravel. The other fish are aggressive eaters and always snatch it if I drop it in their site(sand areas).

Another thing is I didn't expect the bichir to be such a slow grower but I tied that to this lump that's it had for such a long time(on and off). I may have to re-home this little bichir as everything else in the tank is growing its going to get picked on. Well my dolphin cichild started chasing it away this week from the midsection of the tank.

Cb Senegalus are very slow growing. Known for this.

Oh jeez I didn't expect them to grow this slow. Owned it since sept 2015 and it's about 6 inches.
Yea. Had for several years and was stuck like that as well.
