Bichir problem

Hey all-its been a while. I have a 16 inch ornate bichir. She recently ate our 12 inch long needle nose gar. What should we do to prevent her from eatting out other fish, she is living right now with 2 12 inch palmuses, a 12 inch BGK, 2 12 inch plecos, and 4 archer fish each about 6 inches. They are all in a 210 gal tank. We have a 90 we could potentially isolate her in, but my concern is that she's obviously not getting enough food if shes going after these other fish. What should I be feeding her now that she's to this size. We've had her for about a year.

Any advice is much appreciated.

always hard to keep fish from eating others. imo best way is to either seperate or make sure she is filled up all the time (which might be hard). for feeding you can use all kinds of meaty things: shrimp, musscle, big rainworms, feederfish, pellets etc.

i agree! make sure she is full and packed. and one more thing. the gar might have been too close and since gars are slender and slim it is easy to swallow for bichirs that size. sorry for your loss.

When you say shrimp or mussels, are you talking about like what you can buy at the store? Or from a LFS?
