i moved my 6" senegal in with the oscars for a few months and now hes almost 9", the oscars were acting all broody and now that ive removed the bichir they are looking to breed which is awesome!

anyway i have a 55g larger comunity tank, with 5"+ snakeskin gourami's and a fully grown female rainbow cichlid.
other fish include 4" panchax that dwell at the surface, a large redtail black shark that the bichir eagerly shares a tube with and a few large swordtails i used to cycle the tank last summer.

the bichir is doing extremely well in there and i only moved him because nothing could fit in his mouth in the tank. anyway hes a very active bichir swimming around all day at the top of the tank following you around the room, and i was wondering if i could have some more bichirs in the tank?
theres plenty of secluded territorys and eyesite breaking areas in the tank. how many more could i have, and what size should i get them?

ive kept bichirs before but i wanne do things right and get the propper advice before just rushing into things

so your senegal is in a 55 gallon? if so then you can get more bichirs dont get the 1s that grow too 18"+

2~3 idk lol

You should be able to keep a couple more, 2 or 3 would be fine... Just stick with the smaller species like Delhezi, Weeksi, palmas etc.

thanks for the replies guys, my senegal seems to be pretty slow when it comes to getting food. the other fish usualy get it before he does. is there any particular way to ensure they will eat?
