Pictures attached. Delhezi Bichir, 50 Gallon lowboy, 7.8ph, Haven’t tested nitrates, can when I get home but this isn’t a water quality issue. Pictures attached. Looks like a small, maybe 1/8th inch or smaller red growth on the bichir’s head. It doesn’t seem to have grown, however it’s only been a couple days since I noticed it, and I don’t think it moves. If so, it’s very slow.
Any thoughts? I’ve got most types of medication, praziquantel or dimilin was my first thought but I’m asking you all first if you recognize this or maybe it’s just a wound?

Maybe it banged itself on something on top when it rapidly surfaced. My palmas rapidly went to the surface and hit the top trim too hard, causing a red bump which became a gash.

Any chance you can take a clearer picture.

I’ll try, I was lucky to get that shot though, it’s about the size of one of their directional nose things (Using the scientific terms) and sticking straight up out of the skin, which is a little lighter around the growth which is a deep red. It could be a wound from jumping, they’re in a lowboy with a lighting diffuser top weighed down with acrylic to prevent evaporation, so the low roof does result in a few scrapes, but this doesn’t look like an injury at all.

Here’s another couple photos I got of him at feeding time today. No obvious change, and he’s eatting just fine, maybe a little slower to food then the others, but otherwise all seems normal. 3D6C6169-26B4-4B79-8F6C-DAA28E672263.png8B957504-75BF-4BEA-A1C8-BBC5E40E06D6.jpeg07A6F008-27AC-45C1-80EB-3F978D60AFE5.jpeg
