Hello!

Recently I've seen two certain Bichirs chasing each other around the tank.
Not so much territorial but having each others head up againsts one anothers tail. If ones hiding the other makes its mission to find the other. I'm not sure what sex any of them are so I'm hoping you could tell me:D also does this sound like mating behavior?

*One is 5-6inches and the other is about 5 inches*

Thanks,
Justin

*Could someone also sex my Rope Fish?:grinno:*

Yup thats a male and female senegals. If the male is constanting nudging at the female (using its head to gently bump her from time to time) and not biting. And if he also follows her all the time. It is mating behaviour.

Not sure about the sex of the ropefish though.

That's exactly what the male is doing... It's kinda annoying to just see that all the time I look at the tank :p I guess now I wait!

from time to time
It's not time to time it's literately all the time until I drop some food in the tank...

These sens are male and female. The rope looks like a male, it would be great if you could get a clearer shot. Now you play the waiting game :D

Why so? I too have a mating pair of senegals now and I find this interesting to watch. While all my other bichirs lie on the bottom lazily, those 2 swim all over the tank like a pair of love birds.

Don't get me wrong I'm not disappointed that this is happening it's just the male was my ONLY active bichir and now I just seem him whenever there's food...never takes a eye off that girl let me tell ya...

You go tell the male "bros before hoes"!
