I have a 120 which will have 4 bichirs and a Rafael cat when the dust settles. Right now it has 3 bichirs a Rafael catfish an Oscar and a BC pike. The pike will soon be going in another tank that I’m growing an endi out in and I’m watching the Oscar closely, he’s gone after my bichirs a couple times ( not too aggressively, just monitoring the situation just in case) So if this behavior escalates , I’ll sell the Oscar which will leave me needing a fish for the water column. So I’m looking for ideas for a fish around 12” that stays up in the water column that will get along with my bichirs. I prefer it to be a carnivore .
Any suggestions are appreciated

I've had a couple of frontosas with my bichirs before. This was my 120 gallon tank from a year ago.
Edit: I had an oscar with my bichirs before. I rehomed him because I'd have to feed 4x times the amount just to get the food to the bottom. But no matter how much food I'd put in, the oscar would always claim the food on the bottom of the tank and it would nip at anything that went near it.

Well it depends on the dimensions.
Is the 120 4ft by 2ft by 2ft? (I would recommend Hepsetus odoe if that is the case)
Do you have any photos of the aquarium?

Lol I know what you mean, I have to feed the Oscar until he stuffs himself then feed the bichirs, I feed them every 2-3 days for that reason, awesome fronts and ornate BTW

I like the ideas of the Front, pike, barracuda and African brown knife. I’m still holding out hope on the Oscar working out, but those would be sweet if not.

Here’s a pic, it’s a few months ago, so the Oscar is bigger now and I sold the Lima
