Bichir vision

Out of water would be even worse than in water, which is bad. I'm not sure if anyone knows exactly how bad their vision is, whether they can see distinctly, or just general shapes, shadows, outlines, or good vision but only for close range etc.
I've read that bichirs have been known to come out of water in some aquariums onto turtle docks and stuff.
