right now I am growing out a bunch of fish for my 360, and I have a bichir (whatever the common, run of the mill one is) growing out with them, he's about 8" right now, he's growing out with a channel cat (soon to be 2) 2 baby oscars, 2 paroon sharks, a columbian cat, and a female jack dempsey (might add a male for her too) and I had hoped to put the bichir in with my african mbuna set up, however, the africans won't have him/her. Will he do okay with the larger fish (honestly, I was afraid my cats would grow up and eat him) or should I tank all the africans out, add him and rearrange the tank trying to make him acceptable to them?

i wouldn't put it with large catfish. your bichir's growth spurt is nearing the end at 8". from here on it'll grow slowly as it approaches its common max size of 10"-12" in captivity.

360g or liter?

channel cats will definitely destroy it once they're big enough. sometimes they're so aggro, they don't even need to be that large to do heavy damage.

best bet is to mix up the african tank to get them all mixed up, or remove their hiding spots for a while, to get them to be lenient to the senegalus.

That's what I would do, but I've never kept africans with polypterids.

find it a differnt tank or differnt tankmates most of them will eat your bichir pretty soon when there big enough
