Earlier today my Bichirs were fine.

A few minutes ago I discovered that my Albino, my Senegal, and my Delhezi's tail tips were white. They weren't cut or damaged too much but were turning a dull white - I just sat back down and I'm covered in sweat from preparing a water change.

I had a smaller Senegal in the tank as well but it looked like it got into a fight so I separated it from the tank and now this! What's going on? Is it some kind of fungus? And what can I do in the mean time?

Any signs of detereration?

First test your water to make sure the pH isn't really high. It is likely a bacterial infection. In either case, clean the bottom of the tank and do your water change. This will help in either case. If there isn't an improvement in several days or if the condition worsens, begin treatment with an antibiotic medication.

There is a slight bit of fin rot along with it, but only in the whitened area. The white area is about 1cm into the tail.

I checked the Ph and it actually seems low, but all I have are these cruddy test strips so I'm not sure. It read between 6.5-7 but my Ph is always 7 dead on. Everything else is fine but my Nitrates are a bit high, around 50, then again I was overdue for a water change anyway... was supposed to do one on monday. =\

Alright, the white cottony fungus hasn't really changed on the Albino or the Delhezi and it's spread just slightly on the Senegal so I've began medicating the tank using some Erythromycin - four doses and four water changes.
