Hi im trying to help my friend out with his tank and i know he loves polypterus. He has an albino right now but wants one thats is opposite color. What are some of the more "dark" bichirs?

Well if its the complete opposite you are looking for then get a ornate they are black

+1 on ornates although any dark species of bichirs could potentially turn pale if in white or light substrate.
Yup^ bear in mind that substrate does alot to poly colors

ornate or get get blind bichir. the blind ones get very dark. If neither, i would get any bichir and put dark sand so the bichirs and blend with it's surroundings.
