ok guys, i am going to make a long story short. i got a new bichir about a month ago that looked good in QT although i did not treat him with anything. I put him in my main tank after about a week. about a week later i noticed he had planaria like worms on him....and so did some of my other polys.

I read the stickies and couldnt find jungle labs parasite clear so i went with prazipro. Another week and i am on my second treatment and i still see something on the undersides of a few of my bichirs.

After more research i have determined tetra bought parasite clear...and i think it is basically the same thing as jungle labs..but not sure.

So...what should i do now? should i treat a 3rd time with prazipro or get something else? is tetra parasite guard really the same thing as jungle labs?

if it's planaria a couple good water changes and some salt should be good, but planaria wouldn't be the ones to harm your polys they just eat the excess food so i'm not sure it's planaria and if it is i wouldn't worry about them other than cutting back on your feedings and doing 2 or so water changes a week until they're gone. I think if you could try and get some pics of them, but if you can't just go onto google images or something like that and try and find it on there. Pictures would really help.

its not planaria. they look just like the pics on here of bichir worms.

I do not have a camera good enough to get pics of these things but i am positive it is not planaria.

will water changes take the prazipro out of the water? I figure i would let it run its course and try a different product. i don't use carbon in my tanks.
