Hi guys

I have copious amounts of algae.

Was wondering if h2o2 is bichir safe.

I have an adult male Senegal.

Does anyone have experience in dosing h2o2 with bichirs?

I've dosed 3ml per 100L of 50% concentrated h2o2 before with other fish.

Just checking because I know polys can be a bit sensitive to chems.

Thanks

Andrew

I've never dosed it before, but I was considering dosing it with a sensitive fish before. I read you really need to use pharmacy grade H202 if you're going to put it in your fish tank(like the kind humans drink in small doses to add oxygen to their blood stream). I know over the counter hydrogen peroxide has preservers(or something bad? I can't really remember) that makes it unsafe for human consumption. I didn't want to risk using the over the counter type, and couldn't find the kind that was supposedly safe for human consumption.

just do water changes! I would do stuff like that with the 1000 dollar fishies!

The stuff I have was purchased from a fish shop and is sold for the purpose of removing algae. It's 50% concentrated and recommended dosage is 3ml per 100L.

I've previously used it with rainbowfish and freshwater prawns and there was no problem.

But like lix.ma14 said, my fish cost me a pretty penny here in Australia and although I want the algae gone there are other ways of getting rid of it so I'd rather be 10000% certain that it is safe to use with bichirs before I use it. That's why I'm after advice from someone that has used it before.

Lol I can't believe people drink it. That's gross - wouldn't it turn your mouth white? haha

Thanks for your insight carsona246 - I appreciate your comments :)
