Would it be at all possible to keep two Teacup Rays in a 72g with a single Delhezi? The Del is about 6 inches, as are the teacups.. They are on sale at my LFs for $10 each today..

Has anyone tried this combo before, and had any bad results?

My tank has a sand substrate, and a lot of hiding places in the middle, but they can be moved to allow room for the rays to swim around freely..

So, any trouble? Should i jump at the opportunity, or no?

teacup is a general term for juvi rays, what particular ray do u have? 72G might be too small after all.

72g is definitely too small to house any ray for life. Even "teacup" rays grow too big for anything with less than a 24" wide footprint. I recommend at LEAST a 30" footprint for them.

edit: Some people say 24 is okay but I usually recommend doubling the max disk size in width..they get about 15" (if its a Potamotrygon Reticulata, which most "teacups are.")

Ah, that sucks.. they looked really cool.. im thinking if i can get something a lot larger than my bichir, but that wont eat him, they could possibly get along without any fin nipping, biting, etc etc.. Something that is a lot bigger, and can handle its own, but without any killing/eating going on..

Any other suggestions? My LFS also had a couple Sabertooths for sale, theyre small now, but i could put them in a grw out.. The guy (worker at LFS) said they wouldnt be aggressive, but idk... those teeth kinda look a little mean..

for a 72g I wouldn't suggest anything that gets alot bigger than your del--which get like 14". I would suggest maybe sticking to the african biotope and get some ctenopoma or and african knife or butterfly. you could always get a couple more bichirs and get some smaller fish--make the bichirs the stars

Yea, ive tried a Senegal, but she attacked my del, ate most of his tail... Then i tried a couple raphaels, but the del started attacking them.. Im thinking maye a cichlid, but not sure.. My LFS has a couple nice Pike Cichlids, would those possibly work?

I may try more Bichirs once my Del grows a little..

Yea, this lfs is pretty good.. They have a half circle 150g for $1500, heaters, sumps, etc included.. wish i didnt blow my money on my 72g bowront.. that thing cost me $1200.. couple more hundred i coulda bought the half circle..

Should look into 2nd hand tanks. Cheap and all you need is to give it a little TLC to restore it to it's glorious state.
I got my 280g for $380, everything included, just plug and play.
