I'm just curious, Do bichirs do better in groups, I've kept bichirs before but i always have more than 1, I also noticed they like to be besides each other.
Will they be ok if there's only 1 bichir?
reason I'm asking is i'll be moving some bichirs to another tank, and will only have 1 ornate left with my arowana. Just wondering if i have to buy another one? or will he be ok?

how big is the ornate and aro ?
u keep it in bare or decor tank ? decor would provide some place for bichir to hide n safe, but if not its quite alright too.
i had managed to comm a 8" bichir with 18" red with no problem what so ever.

thanks :) Currently i have a 20 inch arowana with 2 bichirs, a 12 inch endli and 1 12 inch Ornate. I have 1 new congicus and 1 lapradei coming. but they'll be going into another tank with my 22 inch arowana. Also plqanning to move the endli there, so was worried th eornate might not do well on its own :)
thanks. will just add some hiding place to make him ffeel more secure.

It will be fine on its own but I think they seem happier if they have buddys to chill out with.

100% agree. Where ever my Ansorgii goes my new Palmas Buetts follow and lay beside each other, they act like lonely puppies  They seem to go out of their way to pile up in one cave, 5 6"-8" birchirs all in one 10" log.

was able to find a female partner for my ornate
