WOW... its been farrrr too long since i been on this website. haha.

well i have a question. After being held down by the man for so long in hawaii, i finally had the oppertunity to move, allbeit for only 5 years for my new job. long enough to enjoy an aquarium i think, yes?

i currently reside in hokkaido and can now have alot more options for aquarium fish. my room mate has a 125 gallon tank with a just a 12" dovii and a 13-14" common pleco already in and he's letting me buy another fish for it. i see ansigorii bichirs for sale nearest to me. and i don't really know/care about really exploring all the shops here yet so i was wondering if they would get along with the dovii?

he does seem to be irritated by the pleco, but they chase each other briefly all day periodically with no excessively violent incident. and thats only when the pleco lands on the dovii's side. i was wondering if an Ansigorri would fit in the tank? this is my first time owning a bichir as they were illegal in my home town. so im pretty excited. but i remember from years ago (haven't been so into fish for a couple years) that research + experienced advice is key. im very rusty with my general knowledge.

so whats your experience/gut feeling on this one? i owned a monster dovii before. it ruled the tank and easily could/would wipe out any free-swimming fish in it's domain. but ironically plecos also stayed alive in there.

ahh i remember the "tank too small" famous quote. i used to say that all the time too. well, the poor guy was actually trying to sell that dovii, he's had it for almost 2 years now so maybe i'll help him get rid of it first?? in that case, what about just the bichir? i see 30" ansagorri online in tape-measure pics and read 11" max growth on all the copy/paste website data sheets. but idk, all bichirs look almost exactly the same to me except for a few tracks, marks, and girths, variables that all fish have.

the dovii will probably kill the bichir and injure it.
