Bichirs eating bichirs

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone’s ever witnessed their larger bichirs eating their smaller ones. I have a 12” delhizi with 2 6” Endlicheri and 2 6” Senegal’s

Never witnessed that but if the smaller Poly can fit in the larger polys mouth it may be eaten.

Seen it before with small endlicheri. Not often but like tlindsey mentioned if it can fit in it’s mouth it’ll be a meal.

Never witnessed that but if the smaller Poly can fit in the larger polys mouth it may be eaten.

Thanks for that thread rocksor, with some of the pictures I see bichir keepers posting I have asked myself this very question many times.

I wouldn’t worry In your situation only endlis and ornates are ever reported eating smaller bichirs and that’s when they’re small like 4” eating a 2-3” one.
