I have a 100 gallon tank running on 2 ac110's for filtration. For the most part the filters do their job on keeping the water crispy clear. However on occasion my endli and senegal lay poop too big for the filter to suck up, so it just sits at the bottom of the tank. i usually get rid of it using a siphon. my question is what type of filtration is everyone using for their bichirs and what can you recommend me. i have limited space so i think a sump is out of the question

my 125 has two eheim pro II and two ac110. i point my power heads down the poop gets stirred up and sucked into the filters.

just throw in a power head with a timer that turns on for a couple hours a day... that should be enough to blow all the poo around so your filters can suck it up :D

i know very little about power heads other than the fact its used for circulating water. is there a certain brand / type of power head i should look into? thanks for the help

I have to ehiem 2080 pro 3 I use the spay bar at a angle so it blows through the tank and a O2 deffuser the little bubbles break it up and the filter gets it.

Any Powerhead would work really. Just look at how they mount so you can find one that will work with your setup and be able to be adjusted to flow water in the direction you need it.

If you keep siphoning it you will have better water parameters for a longer period of time rather then allowing all your "crispy clear" water to be filtered threw crap.
Plus your filter maintenance will be lowered drastically.
