Sorry if this is asked often but would a bichir, not sure what kind yet, be compatible with clown loaches? I have a shoal of 10 all but one are 2"-4" the biggest being around 6"-7". If I were to get a bichir it would probably be around 4"-5". My main concern would be the bichir killing/eating the loaches.

Depends on what kind of bichir

Like others said, if they can't fit into the polys' mouths you should be fine. With that said, you should be 100% sure that they can't. If a poly tries to swallow one of the loaches, the loach will most likely stick out its subocular spines and get lodged in the poly's threat, killing them both.

I've decided to pass. I got to work this morning and walked through all the tanks before we opened and a bichir had a black skirt tetra in it's mouth, a tertra I would have thought was too big to be eaten. Thanks for the input everyone, much appreciated. :)
