i want to get a fish that will swim around the tank and was thinking of getting a jardini to put in with the bichirs. would this be a good idea or do i need to get somethings else?

It might be okay until the Jar gets big and mean then all bets are off. I would suggest getting an afrowana if you want an active swimmer.
How big are your bichirs? I have done 23" jardini mix with 9"-22" bichirs. Any smaller than 9" then the jardini will try to eat it. If the jar is smaller at 10" or smaller and the bichirs are at 18"+ then the bichirs will try to eat the jar.
