So I've had a pair of albino bichirs.
One is long finned, the other is the common one.
So I was wondering to breed them.
How do you tell if they are male/female?
And I've kept them from young. Do you think they would still mate?
Pls have some advice on how to breed them.

They're not very commonly bred in the home aquarium, but it's been done. Males have larger, thicker anal fins, and females will be plumper. The latter isn't the best way to tell, since males can also be fat. If you have a pair, put them by themselves in a planted aquarium. When they breed, remove the parents. They like to snack on little bichirs.
