Bichirs's nostril broke off

Dear all,

Sorry if this has been discussed b4.This my 1st post,I tried searching "Nostril injury",but can't find any results,hope u guys 4give me if I repeat the post.

By the way,one of my endy's nostril one side broke off,broke off due to injury inflicted by knocking against DW.

I hve 2 questions:

1) Will the nostril grow back? If yes, will it grow back 2 the original length?
2)What should I do now? Current hve done 30% WC,added pimafix,also put in some aquarium salt,any other suggestions or medicine 2 effectively treat this??

best you can do is keep the water as clean as possible and keep an eye out for signs of redness or fungal infection. i don't know if it will grow back, i would guess it depends on how deep the wound is. it should heal up within a week though. regrowth will take longer.

Yes driftwood.Thanks for yr advice.Will add some melafix too 2 boost the chance of recovering.

Nostril breaking off? That's definitively new. Add some salt and raise the temp and you should be good.
