Bicolor Blenny has a cut.(Gash)

I woke up this morning, watched my tank as i feed them as i always do. the behavior of my 2.5" blenny was unchanged, but he had a huge verticle gash on his belly. It spanned from under his belly(the thickest part of the gash) to the bottom of his fin(thinest)

I'm more concerned how to help him than how it happend, but ideas for both would be appreciated.

Could he have got cut on a rock?

i would buy some stress coat. its got aloe in it and it helps fish heal.
thats wut i was told when my red devil almost killed our buttikoferi it helped him

It's on the side i can't see when he hides, so a picture would be hard

I'll add some stress coat. It's looking good right now, not infected, looks to be healing.
