Does anyone know about Bifas? I wanna know about their temperment mostly... are they kinda like oscars and dempseys? or are they a lil meaner maybe like a managuense?
typically they are going to be more aggressive than dempseys. more around the temperment of managuense but each fish is different.
They seem to be more aggressive other vieja-paratheraps(conspecific aggression)
hmm i see. the one i am thinking about picking up is currently in a tank with severums and salvinis at the LFS and is at least 2 to three times the size of all of them. He was brought in by someone when he outgrew their set up or atleast thats what I was told. It doesnt seem to pick on the other fish but that may change in a tank with other aggressive species. thanks for the reply though
Got one. Love him. He is a di*k but he isn't one to pick on another fish and keep on picking. Very Conspecific! He and my Guttalatus go at it all of the time. Neither one makes a bite out of it but man they do square off.
Just be sure to have a proper tank size. That is the biggest help with aggression.
