Hello all,

My Bifas in my tank are acting strange.

On Saturday night I rescaped the tank and moved some fish around. Of course, catching the fish I was moving caused quite a stir and after pulling out my wood and rocks, my fish were uber stressed to say the least.

After the rescape and a 50% WC, they seemed fine. The next day I fed them some Frozen Blood worms from Hikari which are pretty old. They gobbled them up.

Now on Sunday, I noticed they were not their usual self and 3 were just lounging at the bottom of the tank in the corner. One was even a little lopsided as it lay motionless on the floor. When I'd come up, they'd move and then quickly settle back into the corner...listless.

I noticed that 2 of them had regular black/brown poop so I ruled out the dreaded white stringy feces "bloat" that I've too often seen in the past and figured that they may have over-ate, were still somewhat frightened from the escapades the night before, and just needed 24 hours to get over it.

Today I came back home and they are worse...breathing about 1.5 times the normal rate and listless as before. When I put food in the tank, the other guys gobbled it up but the Bifas ignored it.

To me, its the beginning signs of an intestinal parasite brought on by the stress of the rescape and their behavior seems standard EXCEPT:

1. They are NOT Bloated.
2. They are NOT dropping clear stringy feces..Yet

Now I know the two above symptoms are usually the final sign before they balloon up and croak so i treated them anyway using the following regime:

Day 1: Full Strenght CLOUT
Day 2: Half strength CLOUT
Day 3: Do nothing
Day 4: 80% WC
Day 5: Do nothing
Day 6: Good to go.

I added some Epson Salt as well.

NOw I'm hoping to get to Day 6. I just dosed Day 1.

Let me know if you guys know this to be anything other than bloat and if so, how should i treat? I know there are a lot of "what-ifs" here and some may think, "Why are you treating without fully diagnosing". But I'd appreciate any input from those of you who have been in my situation before.

btw, my water params check out fine. 0 Ammonia, NItrates, and less than 5PPM Nitrate. WC done 50% weekly...

Water temp at 80 F currently with pH around 7.5
