Big and Awful mistake by Me

hello,

I purchased a Vatf around 4 inches. At first, I placed him on a 35 gallon tank by himself. Oh yeah, I bought him at August 8, 2011. He is all by himself and doesn't seem to grow. I already prepared the 100 gallon tank with dimensions of 5ft x 2ft x 3ft. I recently asked people and they said that I should put him now in a bigger tank. They also said that I have to hurry until growth spurt lasts. THE MAIN QUESTION IS WHEN WILL MY VATF'S GROWTH SPURT LAST? I just placed water and waiting for the filter to be fixed. WHEN?:(

I see... How big your atf now?
 
It depends on what you are trying to achieve. You looking to own a Monster VATF? Then start w/more room and more current. You want to enjoy him as long as you can since you only have a 100gl? Don't add much current. Yes ATF are slow growers and not as fast as most species of Preds. One of the best ways to notice growth is pictures. He's growing but at a very slow rate which is not unusual IMO.

I agree with you thats why I'm totally upset. I want him to grow big. Thanks very much West1! I've learned so much.
 
Mines grown about 5" in a little less than a year. But it was gradually not in any spurts.
