What is the activity level of your bigger cats. RTC, TSN, RTCxTSN, etc.
Mine seems to be fairly active day and night and cruises non stop in the pond. Are yours active or couch potato. List type, size and current home.

My 10.5" RTC (Just got a new measurement through the tank last night) is what I would call "Semi" active. He lays around a lot of the time but he'll go explore also sometimes. Anytime food hits the water it is instant activity and when the lights go out I can see him cruising around as well. If I put my hand up to the tank and tap ever so slightly he can feel it with his whiskers and he'll come say hello also. Not nearly as lame as Common plecos or other catfish that truly sit in one spot for hours on end.

I have a 17" rtc, and he is usually pretty lazy for the most part. But when he is hungry he's all over the place! I have him in a stock tank right now, along with a TSN who is 15" he is ALWAYS swimming around.

My smaller RTCs they are lazy for the most part

I have a 7" RTC thats not too active, but my 8" RTCxTSN hybrid thats always swimming and active and even comes to the surface to eat.
My 14-15" TSN is pretty active too.

Glad that they seem to be more active. Have a big irwini that sits with its head under a log until the food hits. Then he backs out and hovers above the bottom slowly rotating back and forth. When the food in the immediate vacinity is gone he goes back under the log.

my RTC's never stop moving. but feeding them.....that's a whole diffrent story.

My RTC (2+ feet now) swim in circles around each other non-stop... that is why most of the picx of my RTCs you can see both all the time.

They get extra hyper when their favourate food hits the water - hmmm that changes from time to time. Live frogs and prawns (smelly?) ...prawns especially, it drives them nuts when they sense the prawns heheheh gotta be fast these days, paimas also love prawns. Gar has almost no chance to sample the prawns (way toooo slow)

PS: tried handfeeding RTC with prawns ... not sure i like it, the mouth got that coarse sandpaper feel

Forgot to mention. Marble pims are fairly immobile normally - but they go ballistic once they sense food in the water.
