I know paylaking is frowned upon when bragging on ones big catches. but hey, who can resist the chance to not only bring in some big ones but win some money while your at it. Took my wife catfishing for her first time there and she caught nothing under 15lbs, probably 10-20 fish over 12 hours.

I can resist the chance of catching big fish raped from their natural waterways and shoved in mud puddles. No sport in that. Any Tom, Dick, or Harry can go to a paylake and buy some bait and throw it out there. There is no suitable food supply in there and the fish are overcrowded and starving. Mass amounts die every single day. You are in Ohio also so those trophy fish are likely being pulled right out of the Ohio river or its tributaries further degarding the resource. I wouldnt give a nickel to those ba$tards. I would rather catch 5 pound fish from their natural environment than brag about a 40 pound fish that is crammed in overcrowded lakes and starving. That's a real accomplishment there.

Kind of like putting fish in our aquariums...

The only native catfish we have up here are brown bullheads, and they don't grow very big. Biggest one I ever caught was probably 12-14". There are some introduced white catfish, but I haven't fished or caught any of those.

Never really thought of it like that, and nice comparison on a paylake to a giant aquarium. There's a state park/lake near me where I've heard of some big cats coming out of. Maybe ill spend my time down there this year instead, and comeback with a fish I can really be proud of.
